I'd chime, but I'm not entirely sure what there is to chime about, except the painfully obvious.

Suggestions?

I think that is an excellent suggestion. Leave it be.

It's fine by me too- but this person is saying that they have lost $117 (i think it was 117?).

Perhaps you should PM this person Mosc? Help fill them in. They've only posted once.

This one?

Quote:
Posted: Today, at 5:58 am Post subject: QFG pcb's
Subject description: anyone else NOT had theirs yet? I can't get Randaleem to reply to my emails.
I just wondered if anyone else is still waiting for their QFG pcb's to arrive. I paid for them last August along with his future PWM and VCA pcbs ($116 in all) and last had an email from him 2 months ago that the boards were going to be shipped "immediately". Since then I have sent him 6 more emails to which I have never had a reply. Has anyone heard of any news from him or has he vanished.
Thanks

Well, this is hardly a surprise. Rolling Eyes Sad

He did have a good time until we forced him to use his hard earned money for buying the PCBs and sending them to his customers.
We are so wicked.

This is kind of sad. I was hoping that R would at least get it together and get the current "backlog" taken care of. I think we should either let this be, or perhaps just post a PUBLIC email or website where people can contact him. Beyond that, we can't really do anything, so why bother stirring up anything. I think this is simply to be chalked up as "a lesson learned." It's a shame that Thomas' QFG (and the other potentially interesting add on boards) was caught in the crossfire here. Perhaps a listing of the contact info for R should also include a reminder that TH is not involved / responsible for the distribution of the QFG boards. Whatever is done, it should be agreed upon here first.

Tim (still learning lessons) Servo

I expected the same, but I guess he gave up at some point in the process.

I think more to the point that this wasn't the fault of electro-music.com or any of its affiliated members apart from Randal.

It was a sad episode, but I'm really pleased that it has moved on. The forum is just getting back to where it was before, and is now nicely ticking over.

I just felt sorry for someone who lost £50. This has happened to me also. Some guy from Germany was supposed to sell me his copy of E-Moog for my old E-mu. I sent cash (very stupid), which at first he said he received, then he told me that I hadn't sent any money, so therefore why should I moan at him for not receiving anything?

It's very frustrating.

I never heard of anyone having actually built the device (either successfully or not), does some one know more? Paul, did you finish it?

I just got the parts for it, expect to build it in the next 2 weeks, actually. It isn't that hard a build, and the layout looks pretty easy, even with some odd bits on the board. I've been working on 10 boards more or less at the same time (today is Trimmer Day! Tomorrow night is Socket Day!)... anyway, those got back burnered.

He's already got Randal's e-mail. Do we know of any other way to contact him? If not, then I agree that we should just stay out of it. There seem to be 5 times as many people singing Randal's praises, so maybe he'll get around to it. Does he still lurk here? If this guy makes a big enough stink, I'm sure Randal will make sure he gets what he can. (Just to save face) The big problem is that this guy sent money for a board which even he knows doesn't exist yet. That is a tough lesson he needed to learn all by himself. Sometimes we land in mummy's arms, sometimes we land on someone's boot! Laughing
