I havent listened to his show since before Y2K. Are his guests/topics still as fringe and entertaining as they used to be, or has he opted to go more "legit" with his content? Either is great, I am simply curious.

That's good. I always found the majority of his guests to be flakes, but it's so entertaining. It's like the conspiracy-theory-paranormal-pseudoscientific equivalent to Jerry Springer, in a sense. Delicious fun.

What makes his show so listenable is the fact that he is respectful and comes across as genuinely intrigued by the guests he has. Rather than gut their assertions and be an asshole (however justified) about it, he's cool and courteous and makes for a pleasant listen.

He used to have a place on broadcast.com, if I recall. There were a couple of years worth, for free, but we all know how long those lasted.

Yes, I agree. Art Bell has a sense of humor that Noory doesn't have. I would love to see some samples show up in my inbox. Hint Hint. Smile

Have you got any pieces you can post based on these things?

By the way, Art Bell and Phil Hendry are about the only two good things on American radio.

heheh..mosc..i will prepare a special 'art bell' sample pack for you..it would be my pleasure..stay tuned

yeah phil hendry.... that guy is a riot...

for those who don;t know about him, this guy is the host of a 'current topics' show, but the twist is that he also plays the guest of the show at the same time he plays the host

in other words he talks to himself..

he speaks on the broadcast mic as the host, but then switches to a phone that is patched into the board and throws his voice and plays some wacky character...back and forth

really brilliant, altho the comedy gets a little dark sometimes...

that guy is from toronto

btw.. did you guys see that antennae array art bell has set up..he claims he is getting tesla-like 'power from nowhere'...mmmhhhhhhh

Can you point us to a picture. I saw pics of the one he put up about a year ago.

Basically, this is a huge loop of wire on towers about 30 meters high. One would expect to get an induced voltage when this coil is moved through the magnetic field of the Earth, or of the Sun. He apparently is loaded so, unlike most hams, he hires a contractor to put up his antennas. He has never described the measured voltage he gets, nor has he tried to extract power from the system by hooking up a resistor and measuring the current it can deliver. Instead, like an entertainer, he says he gets "incredible" voltages, and he laughs when his workers gets shocked when the touch the loop. Laughing

One of my favorite moments of Art Bell was used in a promo. Some guy calls and says, "I'm the night watchman in the building and there is no one here but me. I just check a room I was in just a few minutes before, and the chairs have been moved around." Art says something like, "Oh, you are the night watchman alone in the building. In movies, those are the guys that are always the first ones to get killed. Whenever something evil come to Earth, it always the night watchmen who are the first to go. Usually, all they find is scattered body parts." The guy says, "Yikes, I was already scared, not you've got me terrified!". Art says, "Don't worry, I was just messin' with ya."

Has he? I never caught any of those. What was he saying? I am aware of it through other channels. It is certainly a him-topic.

Shit, a doorknob ESD is 30,000 plus volts, which is incredible versus the 117 AC in an outlet, but we know which does more harm. I winder if he has measured how much current he is dealing with on his loop.

"How many amps, Art?"

You can make it up yourself: The fact is HAARP is secret, so nobody knows for sure what is going on there except that there are magawatts being blasted into the sky. Now Art has an open discussion which includes such things as there was a hurricane, an Earthquake, a bunch of wierd looking clouds, con trails of a mysterious chemical, strange lights in the sky, an increase in the cancer rate in Japan, several people say they are getting more static listening to the Art Bell show in the Rockies, and Whitley Streeper has an alien implant in his ear (just threw that one in for fun). The logical conclusion is that HAARP is an evil right wing military conspiricy to destroy life on Earth.

But, when Art Bell does this kind of thing there is always a wink and a grin you feel in his voice. Wink
