if only i could keep my mouth shut.

i posted an ill-conceived comment about the lack of DIY enthusiasm amongst x0xb0x builders which may have upset a few people. the x0xb0x kit seems to have been snapped up largely by inexperienced folk with little or no electronics knowledge, even down to being unable to read a schematic.

i feel on safer ground on this forum because i *know* there are some brilliant and experienced electronic minds here..

all i said was that it was daft for people to moan about not getting gerbers for the x0xb0x kit, seeing as the project is supposed to be DIY! ladyada put the goddamn eagle schematics online for free download, so why not make your own PCBs?!?!?

all i read was "waa waa i don't know how to layout a PCB..." well neither did i until i tried it myself! sheesh... i guess i just want to bitch about it until i feel vindicated. i know this is off-topic and i'm sorry for being self-indulgent, but the DIY community has to have a sense of adventure to survive.

this has made me all the more determined to sort out my layouts for the modular devilfish i was raving about before...

8-voice VCO module is on its way. the filter is a bastard though. try and fit 8 of them on a teeny eurocard... grrrrrr Evil or Very Mad

enough silliness now. back to eagle.
