Relativity Error Subject description: Bill Fox's Alter Ego
If you know me, you know that I am half of Twyndyllyngs, my duo with electro-music's creator Howard Moscovitz. On the side, I have a solo project. I wanted to be E = mc ² ± 3dB but the special characters goof up the works on-line. So I started calling my solo project Relativity Error.
As I write this, I am in a rush, preparing the way to go to Asheville electro-music 2018. This post will be short.
I intend to post music here so keep your eyes peeled. May peace and contentment be yours. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

Thanks
Thank you, guys. When I get home, I plan to post a piece that I did exclusivly on VCV Rack.
Rack has been a love-hate thing since I discovered its existence. It seems to run flawlessly on my iMac but I never take it out of my home office. To have Rack with me during Chez Mosc and other Twyndyllyngs concerts, I want it on my laptop. The trouble is that Rack won't open due to a BEX64 error. I have tried EVERY solution I could find on-line to no avail.
I have loaded Rack on three Windows 7 laptops at the school where I work and I have had flawless operation on them... until yesterday.
I wanted to use a patch on Rack during the Twyndyllyngs set yesterday. Since I couldn't find the flash drive where I stored the patch, I went to the files area of the Facebook Group where I had shared an earlier version. Ever since I loaded that patch on the school laptop the I borrowed for the weekend, Rack keeps blowing up and I cannot get any sound from the laptop's speakers FOR ANYTHING!
As a result, despite being a big fan of a Rack, it has been a great source of frustration.
The saga will continue... _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

Mysterious Resolution
Since I found my memory stick, I copied my noodle patch to the school laptop and all is well, mysteriously. Go figure! All the flakey behavior is gone. Perhaps my patch that I donated to the Facebook VCV Rack user group was somehow corrupted. But all is well again... at least with that computer. Now if only I could get my own laptop to open Rack at all!!! _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

Curious Signal Subject description: Music by Relativity Error
Curious Signal by Relativity Error a.k.a. Bill Fox
This was created using VCV Rack on my iMac. It's a noodle that I patched together to learn Rack. It uses some LFOs and two "Seriously Slow LFO" modules. There is only one dual oscillator as a signal source. Some of the craziness stems from modulating the delay time of two delay modules. A "control voltage" goes through an inverter so that the delay times are modulated in opposite directions.

2026-04-18 Recording Subject description: Bill Solo on Chez Mosc
Greetings,
Since Howard's back went out, I did a solo on Chez Mosc. Live from Nazareth, PA. I topped and tailed the file, normalized it to -1dB and saved it as a 128kbps 44.1k mp3 file.
Cheers,

I liked that .. as like watching to the .. i've written that here before .. not too long ago .. oh that was about video .... like watching to the clouds .. where it stays the same .. but it constantly changes anyway .. and i like the way how sequences are used .. as continuation.
I just listened to Curious Signals. Very nice. I like the slow pace but it maintains interest throughout. _________________ --Howard

Thanks. It was a while ago that I made that. {Edit/Addition} I used VCV Rack with only one sound source that I pitch shifted equally up and down. The modulators were LFOs and VLFOs.
I was forced to replace that iMac. Apple discontinued support for its OS and wouldn't let me upgrade it. At nine years old, I was forced to get a computer that would use a newer OS that would run essential programs that no longer worked with the old, unsupported OS on the iMac (El Capitan). I now have a Mac mini running Tahoe.
For a while, the iMac was a spare hard drive networked to the MAC mini. I also used the super drive as a CD player until the iMac died. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

nice music too, Triskelion Tower is a wonderful transition from dark to light with just the right amount of fuzziness.
Thanks again. Trying to control this app is harder than it looks because you depend on the samples that exist in it. You aren't given the ability to personalize it with your own samples. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

Thanks, Jan! Live improv and be a risky business. Without Howard, I depend on two unsynched loopers of different lengths to fill space. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------
