Modulator ESP - US Tour 2011 |
 |
|
Calendar Event: September 3, 2011 - September 12, 2011 Starting to plan this years return vist to the US and have the following dates pencilled in:
Friday 2nd September: Music with Space: Princeton, NJ (radio show)
Saturday 3rd September: One Thousand Pulses, Woodcliffe Lake, NJ (concert)
Sunday 4th September: Soundscapes Concert Series, Bethlehem, PA (concert)
Wednesday 7th September: University Planetarium, Kutztown, PA (concert)
Thursday 8th September: Galactic Travels, Bethlehem, PA (radio show)
Friday 9th - Sunday 11th September: electro-music 2011, Huguenot, NY (concert + collaborations + seminar)
If anyone in and around this sort of area knows of anywhere else I could do something, be it a proper concert, jam, radio broadcast or whatever, that would be cool!
Also, if anyone in this area knows how I could get around using public transport that would be useful too
EDIT: added Music with Space, and Kutztown Planetarium _________________ Jez

Hi Jez! Great to see you're coming back this fall.
You might want to try contacting Mike Hunter aka Ombient. He has a radio show "Music With Space" out of Princeton, NJ. His site is:
www.ombient.com I believe you can get an email to him thru the site. If not, Bill knows how to get in touch with him. You might be able to get a radio show performance thru him.
Of course you can also contact Chuck Van Zyle if you're up to going to Phillidelphia for a Gathering performance/radio show performance. _________________ Dave

Thanks Dave, do you still want that T-shirt
Ah, yes, Music With Space, I played that last year, it was fun but incredibly tiring with the 5 hour time difference, I might see if I feel mad enough to have another go this year
I would have to stay another whole week to fit in a Star's End/Gatherings, so that's probably not on the cards unfortunately
I don't suppose you'd know a way to get from NJ to Allentown/Bethlehem, on a Sunday?!?! _________________ Jez

Do you mean from the airport in Newark? Well, there is the bus system, etc. or a taxi if you're exceptionally wealthy...but probably would be easier to be picked up by someone local to the area. I'm about an hour from the airport and 45 minutes from Howards....
PM me with the details and we'll see what can be arranged.
The T-shirt would be great! _________________ Dave

I live about a half hour south of Howard. I might be able to assist in a pinch.

Free wi-fi on the bus! _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

Some minor changes for future reference...I prefer The Soundscapes Concert Series because so many people use the term soundscape in oh so many ways.I prefer to have the link shown as http://galactictravels.info
While the station is physically located in Bethlehem, FCC rules dictate that the legal ID state Allentown since that is the largest city in our service area. While that doesn't dictate what you must put in a post or in a banner, it isn't what WDIY tells the world on air and in all correspondence. As a result, showing Bethlehem looks funny to me.
None of the information you posted is wrong, per se, but I hope you remember these changes for future posts and banners.
Cheers, _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------

and now it's all over and I'm back home I'd just like to thank the following folks for making it all happen, your help was much appreciated:
Mike Hunter, for having me on his Music with Space show, always fun to play and chat with Mike
Darren Bergstein, for asking me to do an OTP gig in his lovely music room at his house and for being half of the support act
Dave Sneed, for getting me from Newark to Nazareth and taking me to a proper truck stop diner
Bill Fox, for putting me on at his Soundscapes Concert Series once again, at which he joined me for the 2nd set, giving me somewhere to stay for the week before electro-music, getting me to Kutztown and joining me for our performance there, having me on his Galactic Travels radio show again, getting me up to Huguenot for electro-music and playing an impromptu set with me there on the Friday to fill in a gap
Dale Parsons, for allowing Bill and I to do a set at his Computer Music event and fulfilling my ambition to play in a planetarium and Michael O'Bannon, for providing some lovely visuals when we played the planetarium
Howard and Genevieve Moscovitz and Greg and Hong Waltzer, for organising another great electro-music festival
The folks who came to my Nord Modular seminar so I didn't have to talk to myself for an hour
Damon Mar, Bill Fox and Bill Fieger for joining in the Adventures In Sound Collaboration, it was great fun
Charles Shriner, Damon Mar and Joo Won Park for agreeing to do the MidiMel tribute collaboration, also great fun
Dan Gray, for getting from Huguenot back to Newark Airport when the trains weren't running and for the SK-60 _________________ Jez

It was absolutely my pleasure to play host. I was "dead chuffed" to play on all the collaborations.
