Subject description: Acoustic Interloper set
Attached is the MP3 file, listened to pieces, it seems intact.
It was a combination of live playing of the guitar (first half) and banjo (second half), with delay lines, plus processed 1-, 2- and 3-bar uni-tone samples from all three instruments that I finger picked earlier in the week, using pitch shifting and time stretching and various DSP effects in Ableton Live to play them back.
The guitar is a 1994 Gibson JR-200 Junior (no pickups), the banjo is a 1995 Bart Reiter Whyte Ladie, and the mandolin is a ~1912 Gibson A1. The original bridge makes it tough to fret, and it is mostly hidden in the background of the piece. AKG Perception 400 condenser mic, Ableton Live 8, used my Roland GR33 guitar synth as a MIDI foot controller, and a ChucK patch to translate its MIDI messages to control Live while I pick.
Scale used: G A Bb C# D F F# G

Software woes
Well, I think I figured out why I was unable to stream.
It goes back to last Thursday -- I gave a theremin performance and, in order to do the live-looped works, I have to reduce the buffer sizes (thus the latency) for the RME800.
However, NiceCast is unhappy with small buffer sizes -- and when I increased the buffer sizes, it worked.
So -- another note to myself -- when streaming, use large buffers.
Well, I will try this again and hopefully will not have problems in the future. _________________ -- Kevin http://kevinkissinger.com

Thanks everyone who played and chatted - it was a blast as usual. Lots and lots of great music of all kinds.
Here's my set, featuring some Octatrack sequences that I had pieced together the past couple of weeks, some Nord Modular G2 fast sequences, a lot of plain PEK playing, some Origin pigh-pitched things that was MIDI-routed through ChucK, some VG99 and some plain old geetar.

Subject description: Symatic-Star - Electro-Music Summer Solstice 2011 live improv electro-acoustic set
Here's my Summer Solstice 2011 (winter for me ) set. Thanks everybody for a great event, I really really enjoyed playing this improv piece, and loved everything that I heard from the other artists!
A slightly louder version of this is now available further in the thread p5 thanks I have left both versions in the thread for now for learning purposes for anyone interested in this topic of loudness mastering compression or no compression, dynamic range etc ( and as I only have uploaded one song total at present and will delete prob' the quieter one at a later date.
I am going to check if there is an e-m forum discussion on the above subjects loudnes etc

and here's the recording of our set for summer solstice/chez jez #6
Xan played: ipod, ipad, monotron, softsynths on mac controlled by dx100
Jez played: nord modulars, blofeld, putney, resonator & repeater
It was a pretty mellow set, with some nice drone and arp sections in the first half, a noisy transition then some more ambient bits and layered sequences in the second half
Used a couple of knifes, had a glass jar with a small steel ball in it as a sort of drum thingie, used a resonator on the iPhone through which I played some acoustic guitar, then a couple of Nord modular patches, partly controlled by a MIDI guitar.
edit: speling ...

Dude, you should totally be a guest on Programmed Hell some time. I think it would be a neat mix.
