I have a basic question for the chuck/jack users on Linux.

For the first time I have compiled a linux-jack version of ChucK. The compile looked fine.My apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I can’t find it.

When I run ChucK there is no audio output while a Jack server is running. When I kill the Jack server, ChucK will produce audio when restarted. I assume this is because Jack has released the sound driver. Chuck never registers with the Jack server as a jack client. When I do a ChucK –probe I see all of the devices, I don’t see Jack. My Jack-Chuck is behaving like a linux-ALSA compiled version.

Is there something I am missing? Do I need to start Jack with a specific server name? How can I tell if my ChucK is compiled for Jack?

Hmm, are you sure you're starting the chuck that was compiled with the jack flag? It sounds like it's operating like an alsa make. Remember that after the compile you need to copy or link (symbolically) the chuck executable into /usr/bin to be able to simply run chuck rather than ./chuck

I am embarrassed. Instead of doing a make clean I was deleting the objects by hand and missed something. ChucK-Jack works fine when compiled correctly.
