Thought I'd post, in case anyone's looking for RAM cards for their A6.

I ordered one yesterday. Their site claims it works on the A6, so if it doesn't,
I'll be sure to return it. |
just bought it too, will report if it wether it works or not |

that's interesting. I returned mine because it would not work. I bought a used A6 and maybe the card slot doesn't work - which would be odd since the A6 is in mint condition. They were VERY GOOD about the return though. great expeirence. It would never initialize, and I'm very computer and gear literate and tried every different way to get it to work. Also, the battery was dead when I got it. It was not the EPSON either, but an IBM. Let us know if you get it working. They did not have that listed on their sight when I bought mine. I DID tell them I tried it in my A6 when I returned it.
I'm now looking at that $119 one from else where that is KNOWN to work. |

i got the Pretec card which cost around 70 to 80 USD at the time if i remember correctly. this type of card was already hard to find when the A6 was released - i NEVER saw one for sale in my country f.i. - and this will probably only get worse _________________ author of the Andromeda Banker and Mix Maker utilities. |

I did and couldn't get it to work either. first the battery was dead and replacing it did not help. You can return it within 14 days. You should tell them it does NOT work with the A6 so they can change thier webpage. They were GREAT about the return
PS I tried everythihn under the sun to get it to initialize. I did NOT , however, try it in my laptop. Didn;t want to bother since that is not what I wanted it for anyway. I guess cheap doesnt cut it. I'm getting that $119 one |

Rats. Mine won't initialize, either, and in fact, the A6 reports it as a zero kilobyte card. To make matters worse, the internal battery was completely dead (about 180 millivolts of charge left; it's supposed to be 3V).
The card had some scratches on it, too, so I wonder if these are old stock or refurbs.
I'll see if I can get mine returned. I was hoping to pick up a cheap spare to use in my QS6 also (SRAM cards for the A6 work in the QS6).
The card that I already own that does work correctly was purchased from EnvoyData (www.envoydata.com). The card is branded a "Centennial" Type I PCMCIA SRAM card.

Does the 2 Mb pretec card hold 8 banks or how many?
I may be getting one of those too then.
Damn they are expensive though! 113 EUR incl. shipping. _________________ "Peace and Pleasure, my People, Nothin' else"

Have the same and changed battery something like.. what? 400 times? It never worked properly neither with my first Andromeda nor with the second one. I lost two AMAZING patches that I have never been able to recreate perfectly. I was pissed off GREATLY. I don't trust it anymore. Maybe it's this particular card - but if I buy another one I will certainly look for alternatives. |

I just bought one of these cards from this eBay site:
http://tinyurl.com/5fuko3
$75 for 2mb.
Plugged it in and it worked perfectly. 8 banks. My Andy now has over a 1000 slots for patch storage. |

I can't recall as I have it for quite some time. Is there a way to check this? |
