A6 suddenly doesnt read its Ram card, so I shine a penlight in there, and lo and behold, it appears that one of the tiny pins is bent down.......

lovely....

Should a non-tech guy like myself open the Andy up and get at it ?

1 tiny pin.....

It looks to be bent down all the way and I can't get at it....probably break off if I try too persistantly. I'm thinking I'm going to need a replacement Ram card holder and try swapping it out somehow. Does anyone know the Model/part used for the Ram card interface? Any hints/things I'll need to know before swapping it out? yep, just with that 1 pin bent I'm now getting "Card Error" and "Reinitialize Card" on my LCD........

God-awful stuck in Preset 1 and 2 hell.......

If it were me, I'd try fixing it. Either with a fine hook like sunny pedaal suggested, or I'd open it up and try to dismantle the card slot to fix it.
What type of card is it again? I'm sure you can get new card sockets. They might be a pain to solder though.

well I've tried but its just too tiny in there......I guess my Ram slot is screwed for now.....

If I remember correctly I think I heard that its possible to overwrite the Preset Banks as long as you overwrite the entire bank at once, correct?

I'd like to at least get a couple of my solid banks back in my Andy...

yes but NOT directly with a Sysex transfer - you first have upload the bank to the User Bank RAM and then copy it to one of the Preset Banks. The Preset Banks cannot be overwritten by EXTERNAL data.

ahh yes. Thank you. Oddly enough, this really forced me to go in there and choose the patches I really like..... to assemble just a very solid 3 banks.....kinda a blessing in disguise. I originally was telling myself, "shit, this drops the resale value down quite a bit"...and then I laughed to myself......

like I would ever sell the A6......
