Negative Feedback for E-M on Mutable Instruments Forum Subject description: makers of the Shruthi hybrid synths self-forum |
 |

Gents:
Just saw this post on the Mutable Instruments Forum in a post about the DIY Rockit digital synth, which digressed into a discussion of "other" DIY synth kits:
"I like that mega percussive thing but the website (once you find it) gives me a headache."
Referring to Thomas Henry's MPS. I didn't think our site was that bad. Obviously we cover more topics than the Mutable Inst. site (actually way more!).
Should I PM him for more specifics on how we can improve? _________________ Synth DIY since 1977! |

Headache, eh.
I dunno, if you want to see what his complaint is, might be worth hearing. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

OK, I guess one negative about the Mutable Instruments website: no PM! But you can look at a member's profile and the guy did list his email address. I sent a friendly email explaining who I was and asked for some more specific details about what he didn't like. I'll post anything worthwhile on his response.
I questioned him on how the E-M site was hard to find. I mean, I do google searches on Synth DIY topics at least once a week and something from the E-M forums always pop up on the first page of results. _________________ Synth DIY since 1977! |

Wow...got a quick response from him!:
| Quote: | Anyway, what I was referring to was not your site, but Thomas Henry's site. First of all the link from your site takes you to a "we have moved" page and then you're redirected to birthofasynth.com, which is dense... like musicfromouterspace.com. That density of text and technical information is what gives me a headache (again not really, just making a joke).

So, it's not us, but it is one of our members....it's Scott's site!
Scott, you listenin'? I think the worse part is: didn't you ask us to critique it before you launched it?! I think I might've "helped." Ouch! _________________ Synth DIY since 1977! |

I should think we could fix the link at least.
Sounds benign enough though. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
