Should I spork LiSa? |
 |
|
I am having issues with LiSa which I explained in a previous post: When recording to a LiSa and playing back while still recording, the playback gets recorded as well.
I have assumed that LiSa is, umm, self-sporking when necessary, but is that correct? Might one spork a record shred that was isolated from a playback shred?
Thanks, Scott |

I thought I'd ask this here and not start a new thread. I have noticed that all ugens share several functions including the operation, or op() command. Does anyone know if this could be used to keep the recorded material out of the incoming audio stream? I'll try it this evening, but thought I'd go ahead and ask.
Thanks, Scott |

Hi Scott,
regarding your first post:Do you mean sporking two separate functions, one for the recording and one for the playback of the same LiSa object?I think you can do this but I don't know if that would help.
On your second post:UGens' op() method does simple arithmetic operations on the incoming samples in a UGen.Maybe you already know this but op( 1 ) performs addition and it's the default one, op( 2 ) substraction, op( 3 ) multiplication and op( 4 ) division.Again I don't think op() method would give a solution to your problem.
Scott, if you're willing to share your code so far with the forum please do.At least someone can try, recreate the problem and help you in a more concrete way

Hi Andreas,
It's funny, I could find no fault with my code, so I figured I must be missing some function, or something like that. I would be embarrassed to show everyone what bad programming form I have, and would hate to show how I have abused the MIDI protocol. I actually think it's pretty neat, though: draw a note with your mouse- and rather than being a MIDI note, it becomes playback instructions- essentially it becomes an audio clip. Once I get it done right, it should work with any sequencer. But I'm getting ahead of myself...I cleaned up the code to post it and as if by magic, the problem went away. Of course a worse one appeared, but from here I can surely figure out which was the offending code. I appreciate your help.
