I'm guessing the different colours on the pins denote different size resistors but if so what purpose do the different pins have?

Cheers

Basicly it tells the tolerance and value off the resistor.

2.7KOhm white pin 5% tolerance universal use.
2.7KOhm red pin 1% tolerance universal use but more for keyboard!
64KOhm green 5% tolerance high decoupling for big signals.

Cheers for the info. Can they still be purchased anywhere. Gheilmetti have a 20x20 board that I think would do the job ( with the ems pins) but their pins aren't resistors.

@Mono - do you have a part number? I've looked and I haven't seen any pins which are suitable. I think I saw some which were resistive but were a different pin length or pin diameter but it was a while ago now.

the other source of pins is of course Robin Wood himself - they're a fiver each now (I think).
