OscSend and OscRecv are not being recognized by my installation of chuck

Ubuntu 8.10, installed from repos
I received the following error when trying to run the examples
[r]:line(9): undefined type 'OscRecv'...
[r]:line(9): ... in declaration ...
[s]:line(12): undefined type 'OscSend'...
[s]:line(12): ... in declaration ...

any ideas why something that should be in the language is not working?

That's strange.. ChucK version 1.2.0.8 should already have a running OscRecv and OscSend.

But actually, if you are running on Ubuntu, I recommend not using ChucK from the repository.

For compiling ChucK, get these packages first: bison flex build-essential libsndfile-dev

For compiling for ALSA, get: libasound-dev
For compiling for Jack, get: libjack-dev

Go into the src directory and make linux-alsa or make linux-jack for making alsa or jack version.

Copy the chuck executable to /usr/bin to be able to run it from anywhere. you can also change the name, for example, I usually name the ALSA version chuck and Jack version chuck-jack.
