Welcome to the Moderator Helper's Group. This is a closed group available only to the members of the group. Anyone who is not a member of the group cannot access this forum, so this is a space where you may speak freely or compare notes about any issue that may concern you regarding the electro-music forum.

The idea for this group came up among the administrators and moderators of electro-music when we became aware that a pattern of what we'd consider abuse through private messaging was occurring. For the most part we can monitor against such activity on the forum, but private messaging is something we cannot monitor.

How you plan to distribute any design or any monetary arrangement you may have with any person is certainly none of electro-music's business. Our intent is to help shield you and any other forum members from any harassment from other forum members who may feel they have the right to repeatedly harass you about "licensing" or "permission" through private messaging. Or, perhaps, someone may approach you and you may want to check if any other member of this group has had experience with this person.

The idea was to give a space to those members who are actively designing innovative circuits and are posting those designs or are freely discussing their ideas on the forum. In this one rare occurence of abuse, these were the type of people targeted by this person. We sincerely appreciate your participation in the forum, and realize any unpleasant experience may dissuade you from feeling comfortable posting to the fora. We'd like to guard against that, and this may help us spot a pattern of abuse long before it gets out of hand. At that point, the administrators can take care of the problem without mentioning you or any other member in the issue.

The second intent of this forum is we would certainly value your opinion on any way the forum could be improved or enhanced. Please feel free to express any idea you may have. We're particularly interested in your views on intellectual property and how to best provide any form of protection of your ideas, or if it is possible at all.

I've selected the members of this group based upon their creative output and experience in the Synth DIY field. Not only are you recognized by nearly everyone as being both creative and innovative, but you also possess collectively a long history of experience in Synth DIY. As time goes by, more members may be added.

Please feel free to participate in this forum. Once again, we're grateful for the contributions you've made so far, and would like to preserve electro-music.com as a forum in which you feel comfortable discussing your ideas.

Best Regards,
Scott

One comment: these mod helper groups can easily become "insiders" forums. That's OK if the discussions are appropriate to be kept private. It's easy. however, for these "insider" forums to have really great discussions that aren't necessarily to keep private. That is a shame because only the group members can participate.

Sometimes this is a fine like thing, like much of the rest of life. I don't think there are any rules, just be away of the potential.

That said, the mods do need help. They sometimes need to bounce ideas off of some trusted members to help them get more points-of-view. We are learning how to do this as we go along. Thanks everyone for your contributions...
